Superintendent
Ana Karen Salinas serves as the Superintendent of Brillante Academy, bringing over a decade of experience in education with a strong focus on bilingual learning, instructional leadership, and community empowerment.
She began her career as an elementary teacher at a charter school, quickly rising into leadership roles such as grade-level team leader and instructional coach. In these roles, she supported educators in refining their practice and improving student outcomes.
As the founding Principal of Brillante Academy, Ana Karen was instrumental in launching the school’s inaugural program, serving students in PK3 through 1st grade. Under her leadership, the school achieved strong academic results and established a vibrant bilingual culture, where students excel in both English and Spanish.
Ana Karen earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders, with a minor in Medical Spanish, from The University of Texas–Pan American. She also holds a Master’s degree in Digital Learning and Leading from Lamar University.
A proud resident of Mission, Texas, Ana Karen is passionate about empowering students to take ownership of their learning and building educational spaces where academic rigor and cultural identity are both celebrated. She enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, embracing the values of family and community in all aspects of her life.
